Espécies de Cactaceae ocorrentes em floresta litorânea de solo arenoso em Varadero, Cidade de Matanzas, Cuba

Resumo

A família Cactaceae é composta por 124 gêneros e 1.438 espécies exclusivas do Novo Mundo, sendo a segunda maior família de angiospermas endêmicas da região Neotropical. O Brasil representa o terceiro maior centro de diversidade e endemismo da família, com 37 gêneros e 233 espécies, sendo que mais de 50% dos gêneros e 80% das espécies são endêmicos. Em Cuba, a família está representada por 50 espécies, sendo 14 endêmicas. Este trabalho tem como objetivo apresentar as espécies de Cactaceae ocorrentes em pequenos e médios trechos de floresta litorânea de solo arenoso em Varadero, Cidade de Matanzas, Cuba. O levantamento das espécies foi realizado através de fotografia, sem coleta de material biológico, em incursões diárias à vegetação, no período de 18 a 30 de janeiro de 2018. Foram encontradas e identificadas quatro espécies distribuídas em quatro gêneros de Cactaceae. São elas: Dendrocereus nudiflorus (Engelm. ex Wright) Britton & Rose, Opuntia dillenii (Ker-Gawl) Haw., Pilosocereus polygonus (Lam.) Byles & G.D.Rowley, Selenicereus grandiflorus (L.) Britton & Rose. O presente trabalho também apresenta dados sobre hábitos, distribuição geográfica e estado de conservação das espécies. 

ABSTRACT
The Cactaceae family is composed of 124 genera and 1,438 species unique to the New World, being the second largest family of endemic angiosperms of the Neotropical region. Brazil represents the third largest center of diversity and endemism of the family, with 37 genera and 233 species, with more than 50% of the genera and 80% of the species being endemic. In Cuba, the family is represented by 50 species, of which 14 are endemic. This work aims to present the species of Cactaceae occurring in a sandy littoral forest in Varadero, City of Matanzas, Cuba. The survey of the species was carried out by means of photography, without collection of biological material, in daily incursions to the vegetation, from January 18 to 30, 2018. Four species of Cactaceae were found and identified. Are they: Dendrocereus nudiflorus (Engelm. ex Wright) Britton & Rose, Opuntia dillenii (Ker-Gawl) Haw., Pilosocereus polygonus (Lam.) Byles & G.D.Rowley, Selenicereus grandiflorus (L.) Britton & Rose. This paper also presents data on habit, geographic distribution and state of conservation of the species.
