A Mulher que (Des)Aparece e onde (Des)Encontrá-la: Um Breve Estudo sobre os Sentidos da Mulher na Wikipédia e no Discurso Científico
Resumo
Todos os dias milhares de pessoas acessam os portais multilíngues da enciclopédia virtual Wikipédia. Apesar da desconfiança por meio do mundo intelectual, ela é uma das obras de referência de maior alcance, penetração e importância na contemporaneidade. Os discursos lá circulantes afetam e constituem a interpretação de um sem-número de sujeitos cotidianamente: chega-se a esse instrumento antes de se alcançar um livro específico sobre o assunto pesquisado. Neste artigo, pretendemos, por esses motivos e com base na Análise do Discurso materialista, investigar de que modo vão se construindo imagens de mulher no instrumento referido, além de buscar entender como o discurso científico semantiza também esse lugar social-sexual-de gênero.
ABSTRACT
Everyday millions of people access the multilingual web portals of the virtual encyclopedia Wikipedia. Despite the mistrust by the intellectual class towards it, it is one of the most important, far-reaching and escalating contemporary reference works. Day by day, its discourses affect and constitute the interpretation of countless people: this instrument is consulted before books about a specific subject are opened. Thus, with the help of materialistic Discourse Analysis, in this article we intend to investigate in which way the images about woman are built in the referred instrument. Besides, we’ll seek to understand how the scientific discourse also semantizes this social-sexual-gender place.
